SunflowerOur Mission

Our mission is for ‘Plants & Us’ to become a leading centre for education in plant science. Where anyone can participate in the fascinating process of scientific experimentation and where learning is synonymous with discovery.

In that spirit, we aim to share our knowledge by designing, piloting and testing programmes that can be taken to educational centres across the country and, in time, the world.

We hope that the sharing of our knowledge and enthusiasm will enhance and enrich the experience of us all in the partnership we have with plants through science.

Our Position

‘Plants & Us’ will be a leading resource for innovative discovery and learning in plant sciences.

It will promote understanding of the scientific process and enable dialogue with scientists.

‘Plants & Us’ was originated and continues to be developed by the John Innes Centre (JIC) and its collaborators from contributions freely donated by supporters of plant science.
