An entertaining new educational initiative
The many and varied ways in which plants have formed our past, enrich our lives now, and will sustain our future is a fascinating subject. To celebrate this, a prestigious BBC television programme is planned. The documentary ‘Plants & Us’ will culminate in a nationwide poll to find the plant that the nation thinks has most influenced our lives.
There will be 10 ‘contenders’ to choose from and the case for each will be put forward by an expert in the field. A celebrity guest will then endorse the argument from a personal point of view.
Having heard all the evidence, the nation will be invited to vote for its choice by phone or on this website.
A 10-part series in the Daily Mail newspaper is planned to coincide with the documentary and readers will also be able to register their vote.
